For Travel Agents ·
What you'll accomplish
Instead of scrambling to write 3–5 posts per week in real-time, you'll create an entire month of social media content in one 60–90 minute session — with captions, hashtag sets, content type variety, and a posting schedule. This is the single most time-efficient use of AI for travel advisors who rely on Instagram and Facebook for client acquisition.
What you'll need
Before opening ChatGPT, spend 5 minutes deciding:
Example: "March themes: Mediterranean honeymoons, Caribbean spring break deals, and my upcoming FAM trip to Greece."
Go to chatgpt.com, start a new conversation, and paste this prompt:
Create a 30-day social media content calendar for a travel advisor.
My specialty: [your niche — e.g., luxury honeymoons, family travel, Caribbean cruises]
This month's themes: [list your 2-3 themes]
Any promotions to feature: [e.g., "Caribbean cruise deal — book by March 31 for $500 off"]
Platforms: Instagram and Facebook
For each of the 30 days, provide:
- Day number and suggested post date
- Content type: [Destination Showcase / Travel Tip / Behind the Scenes / Promotion / Client Story / FAQ / Testimonial Request]
- Caption (Instagram-ready, under 150 words for IG, can be longer for Facebook)
- Hashtag set (10-15 relevant tags)
- Visual suggestion (what type of image to use — no need to provide the image)
Vary the content types so it's not all promotional. Aim for 40% destination/inspiration, 30% education/tips, 20% personal/behind-the-scenes, 10% promotion.
ChatGPT generates all 30 days. Read through and:
For any posts that feel weak:
Go through the visual suggestions and make a list of photos you need to source:
Copy each caption into a scheduling tool (Buffer, Later, Hootsuite, or Meta's own scheduling tool) with the corresponding image. Schedule 30 days in one session — now social media runs in the background while you focus on clients.
For a 2-week focused sprint around a deal:
Create 14 days of social media content building up to a [promotion name] booking deadline on [date]. Gradually increase urgency: first week educational/inspirational about the destination, second week more promotional with clearer CTAs. [add your details]
For post-FAM trip content:
I just returned from a FAM trip to [destination]. Create 10 social media posts sharing what I learned, saw, and experienced — from the perspective of a travel advisor who can now confidently recommend this destination to clients. Posts should feel personal and first-hand, not generic. [Add specific experiences, hotels visited, meals, moments]
